Purpose
First of all, I am not what some would call an overly religious man, in that, I do not wear my faith on my sleeve. I no longer attend any religious organization nor do I subscribe to many of those that exist today. What I do attend to is the bible. I began doing so at the early age of twelve years or, 1960, in my lifetime.
When I began reading the bible I found it amazing. Right in front of my face was God’s word. I understood this almost immediately and a certain reverence took hold of me that has steered me through moral times and immoral times of life. In other words, I am no better or worse than the rest of us. This is the bolt that holds me to the floor in this world. I am no better . . . and no worse. Of course, it all depends on the times in my life in which I walked off the path until I found it again. I believe we are all like this as this world tempts more than it should. More than it will soon.
I come to this website with naught but an idea but first I wanted to name this website with a moniker that implied nothing except a thin bit of humor: “Son of Blog.” This is a domain name I purchased about seven or so years ago but used only once. That website was about blogging when blogging was not legion but only a few of us chose to accept the challenge that writing and caring for servers entails. It is a large responsibility until one understands how servers work and what it takes to keep them online and working properly. This doesn’t come to you automatically, it comes to you as a job performed by one who is fascinated by how the internet works. The nitty-gritty of this electronic web.
To write of the bible and Christianity here seems ironic given the amount of trash online. However, Jesus went among lepers and infirm people to work His miraculous wonders and to provide an example, a witness of what we should expect from He and His father. I am not Jesus. I am but an imperfect man of advanced age who chose to put online what it is I have learned and how it has made me better. Indeed, it has kept boundaries in all that I have done in my seventy plus years. That is a long road with thousands of obstacles to trip a person or cause them to fall down entirely. Done alone, this is a monumental endeavor. Done with Jesus and God in mind it is a wonder to behold. Little can depress a person who chose to follow the bible as problems, strife, troubles of our own making are less likely and more easily handled when one walks with truth.
Jesus is truth incarnate and spiritual. Jesus represents Heaven and Earth and came once in human form for impetus as to His calling from Heaven. The Savior of mankind. He paid dearly for doing so. This comes with rules also. Rules to guide us to please God in Heaven so that we can be called later on after death. No, it is not impossible or legend. It is the reality that we must search for to find. Your search begins here.
