Sound Pessimistic?
I am not a pessimist nor am I an idealist. If I thought realist would apply to me it might be closer than the other two to what I am which is a Christian. I’ve studied Christianity and Judaism since age twelve. I will not tell you that I understood all of what I read but the odd thing is that as one grows older what they have read comes back, even if we thought we had not recalled it. I speak of older here as when I was younger, but no longer a boy. I am what some would consider ancient but this is by the grace of God and not by the way I lived my life. Combat twice, with only a screwed up lower back to show for it. Many of my brothers were not so fortunate, and many of them still have their bodies rotting in the jungles of Vietnam. I am not a goodie two shoes by any stretch.
What I am is merely one who understands that God’s word is the bible. Or, the bible is God’s word. A thing that many refuse to understand. I say “understand” because this is what it takes to get anything from the bible. A cursory read now and then does little except, possibly, wet one’s whistle for more. More takes consistency and consistency is rare for most. This is why it is so easy for some to denigrate God’s word rather than make a small effort to understand its truth. I call these types, foolish and insincere.
Pessimism is not for Christians. We understand the truth of God and the reality of His works. We do our best to stay out of the fray that is this world. The world is a sticky mess now and you and I both know this to be true. That this has been written about, almost to the letter, thousands of years ago is missed by most. This is the bible’s prophecy and it is coming to fruition right before our eyes. In fact, it has been working its way toward us since early last century or, World War 1.
I write this in way of introduction because you don’t know me from, say, Adam. Like Adam, I also exist and have made more mistakes in my life than both of us could possibly count together. The difference is, I learned from them. OK, this a bit exaggerated, my number of errors in judgement, but you get the picture. I come here to do this because I felt the need to express how I got here and why I am involved in this website in the first place. Faith in God is disappearing while this world gobbles us up through political chaos and worldly endeavors, pushing us all away from God. You understand this or you wouldn’t be one of the few thousand who have already stopped here to read what I write.
My aim with this is to reintroduce this small population of lovers of God to the bible, it’s works, and who wrote it. Secondly, to introduce you to Jesus as He is mocked now as has been foretold. Those who practice Christianity are being hunted and killed in parts of this world. This is also foretold. We are watching the minutes tick down as Jesus is making His way back to us. All of this is written and explained that, in the end, more will be evident to believers.
The end of the world doesn’t mean the destruction of the planet, Earth. It means the end of those in civilization without a belief in God and Jesus. Jesus is God’s son, in whom God is immensely pleased. This is what I am about and, therefore, what this website is about. The time is close at hand for Jesus to come again in glory. Nuclear weapons are the wildcard that God has waited for us to invent. Those weapons are here now, in spades. Will they be used? God only knows. Hence . . .
